On Saturday, August 20, from noon – 4 p.m., residents are invited to a street lab party on 20th Avenue between 8 Street – 10 Street N.W., where we will temporarily add public art, entertainment, safety education and walking and cycling enhancements to the road in order to see what 20th Avenue N could look like in the future.
The communities of Mount Pleasant, Capitol Hill and Banff Trail will have a chance to experience different ways of reconfiguring the street and offer feedback on what they liked and didn’t like.
The day will be a chance for community members to:
- Connect with their neighbourhood and see their street in a new way
- Learn about street design principles from City staff and groups in their community
- Test out temporary ideas to see what should or should not be considered more seriously in the future
- Decide if this is a constructive way to provide feedback to The City about future street design projects
Please know that 20 Avenue will be closed between 8 Street and 10 Street N.W. from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on August 20.
To volunteer to help build the temporary 20 Avenue N.W. enhancements please email us.
