My husband and I got married at the Capitol Hill Community Centre in February, and our experience was fantastic! Abi Harker, the facility manager, was an absolute delight to work with. She understands how crazy wedding planning can be, and accommodated us every step of the way. Having access at 8am to decorate and being able to come and go as needed throughout the day was so nice! The hall is very spacious, and even has a separate room (lounge) for guests to escape to if they need a break from the action. There is a conference room downstairs where the bridal party got ready, so we didn’t have to get ready at home and travel far in our dresses (not to mention, waste precious time driving)!

 This place has it all, and for a price that other venues do not offer. Our damage deposit was fully returned to us, and boy did we ever party after the ceremony and dinner.

 Who says wedding planning has to stressful? Go get your dress. Get your decorations. Find your caterer.  Hit up Costco liquor store.  Get married at Capitol Hill Community Center!

"I hosted my sister's baby shower in lounge and found this option perfect as I was looking for a space that could accommodate over 40 people comfortably with sitting and standing space available. Having access to the deck on a beautiful spring day was an added bonus along with the playground nearby for the little ones to enjoy. The lounge is bright with lots of natural light and provides for a casual and charming setting. I found the web page easy to navigate and was able to have all my questions answered timely by the hall's event manager, Abi whom also provided well-thought of suggestions. I would definitely utilize this space again in the future for any type of event and found this particular community hall to be highly valued and reasonable"

We got married at the Capitol Hill Community Centre in May of 2019 and it was the perfect venue.  There was tons of space to accommodate our 100 guests, and many of them commented on what a lovely setting it was for a wedding.  There are many great spaces for photos, both inside and outside, so even if the weather isn’t great, it’s not a problem.  

We hired a food truck (Waffles and Chix - they are AMAZING) to cater our wedding and they were able to park very conveniently outside the main entrance so it was easy for our guests to get food.  We would highly recommend having a food truck for any event at the centre.  The food truck was one of the highlights of the wedding for all our guests, and the venue is set up perfectly for it.  

The manager at the centre, Abi, was great to work with, very helpful and knowledgeable.  She’s always available to answer questions and offer suggestions which makes the planning process very easy.  We are in Abi’s debt for helping us to find an excellent person to do our security.  Ask Abi to connect you with Chris Pratt if you want a friendly, personable, professional, helpful and thorough person to handle security so that all your friends and family can enjoy your event with no extra responsibilities.  

If you are looking for a flexible space in a lovely parklike setting with all the amenities you need, then Capitol Hill Community Centre is just right!”
